Afgelopen weekend vond het Europees kampioenschap voor pony's plaats. Ook België stuurde een dressuurteam naar Kaposvar, Hongarije.
Chef d'équipe Alain Rauw was aanwezig met vier getalenteerde ponyruiters. Tijdens de teamtest zetten de ponyruiters een fantastische prestatie neer en werden ze 5e van de 16 deelnemende landen. Wat een fantastische prestatie van deze jonge ploeg, waarvan geen enkele ruiter eerder een EK had gereden. Het team van chef d'équipe Alain Rauw, bestaande uit Caro van Sinay met Caspar W, Zoe Niessen met Minerva Bijou, Maud Adriaensen met N-Constantino vd Bolkerhoeve en Belgisch Kampioen Clara Mourlon Beernaert met Don't Dream WE.
Dit was na afloop de reactie van Alain Rauw:
Maybe some of you will say that a 5th place in a team competition is not a good result. In my opinion it is a fantastic achievement! The increment of the championship standards made truly a lot of dust. In fact, even I was worried about the possibility to compose a team for the European Dressage Championship for ponies in Kaposvar. We could not recover any of the riders from the former team and we had to start all over again.
One by one they came along. Truly talented riders gave their best and more and were driven to do better. Being 5th out of 16 countries and competing against the best riders of the world makes me very proud of our Belgian dressage pony team.
So ladies and gentlemen remember the names Caro Van Sinay, Clara Mourlon Beernaert, Maud Adriaensen and Zoe Niessen, because you’ll hear of these fantastic riders in the future.
P.S. At home we have another bunch of talented ponyriders!
Het Duitse team won het landenklassement. De tweede plaats ging naar het Deense team en de derde plaats was voor Groot-Britannië. Het Belgische team eindigde net na het Nederlandse team.
Na de teamtesten kwamen de ruiters ook nog aan de start voor de individuele proeven en freestyel. Clara Mourlon Beernaert behaalde en mooie 12e plaats. Caro Van Sinay behaalde een 14e plaats.
Chef d'éuipe Alain Rauw: Having 2 riders in the freestyle final is an exceptional performance for this inexperienced but talented squad. At a point we could smell a top ten ranking. Clara Mb achieved a 12th place while Caro Van Sinay ended on a 14th position. Wish to congratulate all the 19 finalists and especially Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel (Ger) who won the test with a breathtaking test.
I hope this will inspire many Belgian (pony)riders to believe and to do even better.
It certainly inspires me!
